ABOUT ME

My name is Reynir Snær Valdimarsson. A native of Iceland and a Thompson Rivers University graduate. My passion for the mountains began at a young age and by the age of 17 I summited Hvannadalshnúkur for the first time. In 2016 I joined the Icelandic Search and Rescue(ICE-SAR) and graduated TRU with an Adventure Guide Certificate. Since then I have been guiding on glaciers, kayaks and the summit.
In my days off I enjoy hiking, rock climbing, skiing and climbing mountains. I have hiked a number of multi-day treks and crossed 3 ice caps in Iceland on cross-country skis. I enjoy trail running in the wilderness but of course also sitting down and enjoying a cup of coffee.
Certifications:
